Our Approach

Holistic. Community-Led. Lasting.

Spread Care Foundation does not work in silos. Our six program areas are deliberately designed to reinforce one another — because a child who receives an education also needs mentorship, their family needs economic opportunities, and their community needs access to clean water and a peaceful environment.

Every program we run is low-cost, high-impact, and grounded in what communities tell us they need — not what we assume they need.

Community-Centred Design

We design every program with communities, not for them. Local voices lead every decision we make on the ground.

Low Cost, High Impact

Our programs are built to achieve maximum impact with minimal resources — so every cedi and dollar goes further.

Built to Last

We don’t do one-off projects. We build systems, train local leaders, and create programs that grow and sustain themselves over time.

Evidence-Informed

We monitor, evaluate, and learn from everything we do — continuously improving based on real outcomes from real communities.

Responding where the need is greatest

Program 01

Humanitarian Works

When communities face hardship, Spread Care Foundation responds. Our humanitarian work addresses the most immediate and urgent needs — providing relief, support, and care to individuals and families in vulnerable situations across Ghana.

We believe that no one should face hardship alone. Whether responding to health crises, supporting families in need, or coordinating emergency relief, SCF mobilises quickly, works through trusted community networks, and ensures that aid reaches those who need it most.

In 2025, SCF partnered with the National Youth Authority on a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in Tamale — bringing free screenings, health education, and awareness to hundreds of women who would otherwise have had no access to such services.

Emergency relief coordination for families and communities facing acute hardship

Health awareness campaigns including breast cancer, malaria, and hygiene education

Free community health screenings in partnership with local health facilities

Support for orphans, widows, and other vulnerable individuals in underserved communities

Coordination with national authorities and NGOs to amplify humanitarian response

Program 02

Education

Education is the foundation of every other change we seek. SCF works to ensure that no child in Ghana is held back by a lack of access to basic learning resources, quality instruction, or a safe and supportive school environment.

We partner with underfunded schools and community organisations to provide learning materials, run reading and literacy initiatives, and support students who face the greatest barriers to educational participation. Our Learning Kits Initiative distributes essential school supplies to students who cannot afford them, for as little as $5–10 per kit.

We also advocate strongly for girls’ education, running annual community sensitisation drives that engage families, traditional leaders, and local authorities to keep girls in school and protect their right to learn.

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene

WASH

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene

Clean water. Healthy communities.

Program 03

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

Access to clean water and proper sanitation is a fundamental human right — and a prerequisite for health, dignity, and development. SCF’s WASH programs work to improve sanitation practices, promote hygiene education, and support communities in creating cleaner, healthier living environments.

Poor sanitation and lack of clean water disproportionately affect children, women, and marginalised communities in Ghana. We address this through community clean-up campaigns, hygiene education workshops, and coordination with local authorities and health facilities to ensure sustainable improvements in sanitation infrastructure and practice.

Community clean-up campaigns promoting environmental hygiene and waste management

Hygiene education workshops in schools and community centres on handwashing, sanitation, and water safety

Advocacy for improved WASH infrastructure in underserved communities with local government

Training of community hygiene champions to sustain WASH practices beyond SCF’s direct presence

Distribution of hygiene kits to vulnerable households during health emergencies and community outreach events

Advocacy & Engagements

Amplifying voices. Driving change.

Program 04

Advocacy & Engagements

Sustainable change requires more than programs — it requires changing systems, policies, and attitudes. SCF’s advocacy and engagement work amplifies the voices of marginalised communities, promotes civic rights, and pushes for the structural changes that communities need and deserve.

We engage with traditional leaders, local government, civil society, and national institutions to advocate for the rights of children, girls, persons with disabilities, youth, and other groups who are too often excluded from decision-making. We run civic education campaigns, facilitate community dialogue, and work to build a culture of accountability, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence.

Program 05

Mentorship & Career Guidance

Every young person deserves a guide — someone who has walked a path before them and can help them navigate their own. SCF’s Peer Mentorship Network connects young Ghanaians with experienced mentors who provide real, practical guidance on education, careers, scholarships, and life.

Our mentors include educators, professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders — people who volunteer their time and experience to support young people who may have no other access to such guidance. Sessions are delivered in person and virtually, making the program accessible regardless of geography.

The program also runs career exploration workshops, university and scholarship application support, and one-on-one guidance sessions — giving young people the confidence, knowledge, and connections to pursue their ambitions.

Program 06

Entrepreneurship & Skills Development

Economic exclusion is one of the greatest barriers to human dignity and community progress. SCF’s skills and entrepreneurship programs equip individuals — especially youth and women — with the practical tools to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economy.

Our Digital Skills Bootcamp is a flagship 4-week intensive program covering digital literacy, internet safety, social media for business, and introductory data skills — equipping participants to participate in and benefit from Ghana’s growing digital economy. The curriculum is developed once and reused each cycle, keeping costs minimal while maximising reach.

Beyond digital skills, we run vocational training facilitation, business idea development workshops, and connect aspiring entrepreneurs with mentors, networks, and resources to launch and sustain their ventures.
